The Human Genetic Analysis Resource (H.G.A.R.) is an NIH supported resource that provides services and expertise in the form of collaborative efforts and through the distribution of the Statistical Analysis for Genetic Epidemiology (S.A.G.E. - Principal Investigator, Robert C. Elston) software package. The Resource entertains requests for collaboration from research workers who are collecting pedigree data and wish to have their data analyzed by appropriate statistical methods. The S.A.G.E. software provides the means to efficiently analyze pedigree data in a variety of different ways. In addition, short courses are provided that center primarily on theory and the S.A.G.E. software package.
The project is funded by the National Center for Research Resources
of the
National Institutes of Health - U.S. Public Health Service.
Originally begun at Louisiana State University Medical
Center, the Resource has since moved to the Department
of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Case Western Reserve University.
