The project is open to requests for collaborations.
Questions regarding this should be directed to Dr. Robert
Elston at robert.elston@cwru.edu.
In order to use the Resource to the best advantage, priorities for collaborative efforts will be given to the following kinds of studies:
- Studies in which polymorphic markers have been determined.
- Studies in which many different biochemical and/or physiological risk factor measurements are made, as opposed to studies in which merely the presence or absence of a disease is noted.
- Studies in which the variables measured are already known to show evidence of some possible genetic involvement, e.g., because of known familial aggreation.
- Studies of diseases of social and/or economic importance.
Collaborations have continued with many groups, at our local institution, around the country and internationally, resulting in papers published in the following diseases areas:
- Alzheimer disease
- Aneurysms
- Asthma
- Cancers
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Coronary heart disease
- Cystic fibrosis
- Diabetes and Nephropathy
- Epilepsy
- Fibromyalgia
- Neurological diseases
- Nicotine dependence
- Ophthalmologic disease
- Osteoarthritis
- Pregnancy outcomes
- Psychiatric diseases
- Pulmonary diseases
- Sarcoidosis
- Sleep apnea
- Systemic lupus erythematosus
- Tuberculosis
